We are coming to the end of July. Time really flies, isn't it? Today marks the 108 days after joining Adsense Guild and my first website is growing in all areas - content, visitors and revenue!

Yesterday, saw a report that said the unemployment rate in Singapore has gone up. Largely attributed to the influx of new graduates. Younger, and more energetic. Hungry for success. As for whether they are prepared to work at a lower pay with longer working hours, I am not so sure.
Now, it looks like the more senior you are, and you are not adding value to whatever company you are at, it is a certainty you will be replaced by someone more junior that is "cheaper". Employee loyalty is no longer valued in Singapore. If you know of any profitable company that is not interested in making more money, and more interested in hiring older people and paying them huge amounts of salary for not doing much work, let me know. I will gladly join them.
You do not have to wait for the day to come when you are given the pink slip to take action. You can start a profitable side business while you are gainfully employed. When it is a side business, you do not have the stress of it working out and earning you a salary that is comparable to your full-time job now.
When it does, you can either quit your job or enjoy the double pay.

Another Celebrity Who Set-up Side Business
Ex-beauty queen, Jamie Teo and her husband Daniel Ong just started a cupcake shop. It was 3 weeks old. The startup capital is $100k. Now, they woke up at 6am, worked from 8am until 10pm, a total of 14 hours, including lunch breaks. When they reached home, they continue to do the accounts for the day. Another 1-2 hours spent on their business. I estimated that they slept at 12+am and only got 6 hours of sleep at most.
Daniel Ong is doing some voice-over assignments at their home studio. If they are working everyday, that leaves even lesser time for rest.
I google-ed and found that cupcakes are expensive. Price ranged from $1 (super-mini size) to $6 (standard size). One box of 12 cupcakes costs $36. If they can sell 50 boxes (=600 cupcakes) per day, that is $1,800 in revenue per day. In a month, that is $54,000 in revenue. The operating costs should be around $30k, and that leave around $20k in profit every month. This means they will break-even within half a year or less.
Internet marketing with Adsense Guild does not need 100k, and it does not need to be full-time. As for the break-even part, I will tell you when the time comes.

A few days ago, I shared with 2 of my friends about my experience with Adsense Guild. Just like many people that I have spoken to, they can see the potential of this online business.
For example, the Adsense Guild owner, Cary Bergeron, is making roughly $21k per month after working on internet marketing for 5 years, with a full-time job. Now, he has 3 full-time persons working for him.
I am making $0 for my 79 days of effort so far.
Perhaps my friend summed it best -
"If it does not make money, call it a hobby.
If it does make money, tell other people you are doing a business" - Friend's quote
